We had another opportunity to attend the Melbourne Temple. Saturday 23 Aug 2008, we rode on a bus with members of our Glenroy ward to attend a 7:30 am Temple Session. We were up at 4:30 am and left at 5:30 am to meet at the Church in Glenroy. It took an hour to ride the bus which had no heating and was freezing cold. We enjoyed the session and were back at the Church by 10 am. It reminded us again how blessed we are in Utah and in America to have so many Temples close by. Go to the Temple.

We then went to visit the Fawkner Cemetery where Thomas Linton Rowan’s grave is located. He is the son of Lee Rowan (elder) and brother to Lee Rowan (younger) who Michael’s line comes from. We were given the section of his grave but were unable to find the exact grave site. It is listed as compartment 0 grave 977.
The day warmed up and we enjoyed a nice walk around the Queen’s Park pond in Moonie Ponds (close to our flat). Saw some beautiful black swans that even stood on one leg, stretched out their neck in one direction and their leg in another and looked like a ballet dancer in her tutu in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake.

Last weekend we toured downtown Melbourne again. We visited the Melbourne Goal; bathhouse; St. Francis the oldest Catholic Church in Victoria, where Michael's Davies family attended; Carlton Gardens; the outside of the Royal Exhibition Building.

The highlight of the day was finally getting to buy Melbourne’s Victoria’s Market famous hot donuts filled with jam (almost like a scone with jam inside and sugar dusted on the exterior). Yummy!!
We walked along the Yarra River.
