2 June 2008 – “Happy 39th Anniversary” to us. We arrived at the MTC about 10:30 am this morning. After a half day of orientation and plenty of eating we have returned to our room in the Jacob Hamblin building for Senior Couples to study our Preach My Gospel Manual. We met a couple of young Elders – Elder Bennison from Melbourne and Elder Miller from Brisbane, Australia. They are going to Japan on their missions. Elder Bennison just arrived this evening. The international young missionaries arrive on Monday evenings whereas the other young missionaries arrive on Wednesdays and the Senior Couples arrive Monday mornings. We also met Elder and Sister Green who are going to South Africa to serve in the Temple. He is from Brisbane and Sydney area of Australia. You can tell his accent is still strong. He told me G’Day is just as it is spelled, so I’m practicing to say it right. We also met Elder and Sister Partridge who will be going to Seoul, Korea to work in the Temple so Jen and Michael tell them hello from us when you meet them. We love the spirit here and can tell it is a wonderful way to begin our mission and to celebrate our anniversary. Pictures: us at the MTC – one pointing to where we will be going and the other showing our home area in Utah compared to our new home in Melbourne, Australia. Cheers, Elder and Sister Flynn alias mom and dad/grandma & pa Flynn
