Michael celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, Thanksgiving day and his birthday on Thursday (since it is Wednesday again in America), and Thanksgiving Day on Friday (since it is Thursday in America).
Yes, we’ve put on weight since being on our mission. We had a roasted whole chicken which looked like a miniature turkey just right for the two of us and still plenty for leftovers.
There was no pumpkin pie since it isn't fall here and they don't have canned pumpkin pie filling but we did have our traditional banana cream dessert and our cranberry sauce was actual cranberries in a can since fresh cranberries aren’t in season and they don’t have cranberry sauce. It tasted delicious.
On Friday we joined the young missionaries and the other Senior Couple McKells at a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner with enchiladas as the main course.
The young Elders selected the menus brought a lot of the food, including mashed potatoes and gravy and Sister McKell made the enchiladas and the delightful centerpieces. We brought some dessert. The Reads (from Kaysville) who recently returned home from their mission here and who’s flat we now occupy sent Thanksgiving napkins over which added to the festivities.
At the end of November and the beginning of Dec. we want to express our Thanks to our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ for our many blessings. We are thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for the plan of salvation, for His Atonement and Resurrection, for the restoration of His Gospel and Church back on the earth today.
We are thankful for Priesthood power and blessings that have touched our lives many times. We are thankful for all of our family, whom we love most of all. We are thankful that we have been sealed together as a family for this earth life as well as for the life to come, for all eternity. We are thankful to all of our friends back home in America and our new friends and family here in Australia. We are blessed.

Haven't looked at your blog for some time, sorry -- seems we all keep pretty busy, huh? What a fun adventure you two are having!!! I'm so happy Michael has been able to find so many relatives -- that too adds to your pleasure and adventure. All is well in upstate NY, the gospel is true here too and we love to bear testimony here at these sacred restoration sites. It is getting close to wintertime here and the cold weather is setting in, you'll be glad you have summertime there.
